Sunny Nash is the author of "Bigmama Didn’t Shop At Woolworth’s," based on newspaper columns about life during the Civil Rights Movement with her part-Comanche grandmother. The Association of American University Presses selected Nash’s book as a “Book for Understanding U.S. Race Relations,” and the Miami-Dade Public Library System recommends the book for Native American Collections. Nash was a nationally syndicated newspaper columnist, commercial broadcast news reporter, public radio program director, television and documentary film producer. As a journalist, Nash established energy efficiency practices while working in off-grid locations, and developed affordable alternatives to charge portable equipment for writing and editing, broadcast transmission, photography, lighting and sound, music mixing, audio and video production, digital preservation, and historical archiving. As a journalism instructor, Nash will share her training, experience and methods with students, instructors and those interested in renewable energy to power their projects.
